Poggio Martino is an authentically restored period farmhouse (casa collonica) with completely modernized kitchen and bath facilities to accommodate from 2 to 6 people. (For families with children or larger groups see Additional Accommodation) It is a typical Tuscan brick and beam structure on two levels. The space you would occupy is on the second level and is accessible by an exterior staircase leading up to a small terrace just outside the front entrance. The terrace faces west overlooking the beautiful Val di Chiana and is equipped with table, chairs and umbrella. The main living space consists of a large living/dining area contiguous with the kitchen. There are two bedrooms each with queen and king size beds, and ensuite bath. On the ground level is another bedroom also with ensuite bath. This room has its own exterior entrance and is connected to the upstairs only by the external staircase. |

The lofty ceilings are about 20 ft at the apex with original beams and brick typical of Tuscan architecture. The surrounding countryside seen from the casement windows and terrace is serene and tranquil with splendid views of the cultivated fields of Val di Chiana and neighbouring Renaissance towns. Other
amenities: The house is centrally heated with large rads that warm the place
very quickly. Each bedroom has a fan and the windows are equipped with
screens to keep flying insects out. A cell phone is available for your use. A
television and cd/tape player are also available. Our neighbour, Jacopo, will
introduce you to the ins and outs of the place when we are not available to
do so. |
